The Cypress Creek High School girls’ water polo team defeated Alvin Shadow Creek in the Class 6A area round playoff. The Cougars are among five CFISD teams to advance to the region quarterfinal round.
Oct. 14, 2024—Five CFISD water polo teams advanced past the area round of the Class 6A playoffs and moved on to the regional quarterfinal round while the Cypress Falls, Cy-Fair and Cypress Woods high schools girls’ teams concluded their seasons and finished as area round finalists. The Cy-Fair, Cypress Woods and Jersey Village boys’ teams also concluded their seasons and finished as area round finalists.
On the girls’ side, Cypress Creek High School defeated Alvin Shadow Creek, 22-12. The Cougars advance to face Houston Lamar on Oct. 15 at 6:45 p.m. at the Lamar High School Natatorium (3325 Westheimer Rd).
Bridgeland High School defeated Fort Bend Ridge Point, 24-8. The Bears advance to face Spring Branch Stratford on Oct. 15 at 5 p.m. at the Spring Branch ISD Natatorium (10404 Tiger Trail).
Cypress Ranch High School defeated Fort Bend Fort Bend Clements, 20-1. The Mustangs advance to face Lamar CISD Foster on Oct. 15 at 5:45 p.m. at the CFISD Natatorium (12550 Windfern Rd).
The Cypress Creek High School boys’ water polo team defeated Houston Lamar, 15-6, and advanced to face Houston Westside at 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 14 at the CFISD Natatorium.

Cypress Ranch defeated Fort Bend Clements, 23-2. The Mustangs advance to face Lamar CISD Foster on Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. at the CFISD Natatorium.
